Iason Hellenic Shipping Co. Ltd (IHS) has reached an agreement with SPP Shipbuilding Co. Ltd in Korea for the construction of two 81,000 dwt Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels to be delivered in Q4 2011 and Q1 2012 respectively.
Hulls S-5090 and S-5091 have been designed and will be constructed under the auspices of  Lloyd's Register of Shipping.


Established in 2002, SPP Shipbuilding Co. Ltd is the world's 10th largest shipbuilder with over 240 orders and 100 vessels already delivered. It operates two shipyards in the Republic of Korea with over 2,700 employees 

 an annual building capacity of 41 vessels. The shipyards currently operate under  ISO-9001:2008, ISO-14001:2004, OHSAS-18001:2007 certifications issued by Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
