An agreement has been reached between Iason Hellenic Shipping Co. Ltd (IHS) and SPP Shipbuilding Co. Ltd (Korea) to upgrade the two (2) 81,000 dwt Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels originally on order to the latest 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax design recently launched by SPP Shipbuilding Co. Ltd.


In exercising the option to upgrade to the newest design, our principals will benefit from the increased transportation capacity, more powerful and efficient engine and overall further improved specifications currently available.

 

Hulls S-5090 and S-5091 are still slated for delivery in Q4 2011 and Q1 2012 respectively. The pair will be managed by IHS and are expected to be deployed predominantly in coal trades on Asian routes.
