Alexandros Petrakis – President & CEO
Alexandros Petrakis is the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of IHS, and is also the Chairman of Iason Maritime Holdings Inc.. Since 1983 he remains at the helm of IHS. Notably, in his earlier days in trade and transport he founded Esmaco S.A. which he grew to become a leading company in the intra-Mediterranean animal feed trade. He draws upon his experience from his remarkable 40+ year career in shipping as a charterer, manager and owner of dry bulk vessels. Alexandros Petrakis is also a member of the board of directors of various private companies and is an honorary member of the Hellenic Advisory Committee of RINA SpA.
Themistocles Petrakis – Director
Themistocles Petrakis is the Managing Director of Iason Hellenic Shipping (UK) Ltd and the Chief Executive Officer of Iason Maritime Holdings Inc. He previously led for 13 years the commercial division of Iason Hellenic Shipping Co. Ltd and was responsible for the company's business development of which he remains a Director. During that time he also served as Managing Director of Kemika Tankers Management Inc. while in his early days worked as a competitive broker for V.Ships Commercial in London. He is a member of the Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs (SIG) and the Hellenic Advisory Committee of RINA SpA. Themistocles Petrakis earned his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Business Finance from University College London (UCL), received his professional accreditation from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) and completed his postgraduate studies in Leadership at Harvard Business School (HBS).
Christos Strapatsakis – Chief Financial Officer
Christos Strapatsakis is the Chief Financial Officer of IHS and Iason Maritime Holdings Inc. He previously worked for HSBC and Eurobank, as well as reputed private shipping enterprises serving as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Family Office. He draws upon his experience from his extensive career in shipping and corporate finance and brings significant knowledge in the full spectrum of financial structures applicable to shipping. Christos Strapatsakis earned his Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from Jussieu/Pantheon-Sorbonne in Paris and his Master's degree in Shipping, Trade & Finance from Cass Business School in London.
