Our company was founded in 1983 with an aim to become a leading dry bulk shipping and ship management firm. Registered in Monrovia, Liberia and headquartered in Athens, Greece, IHS* has accumulated over 40 years of dry bulk ship management experience.

Today, we provide a full suite of commercial, technical, crew and other ship management services to our principals. As a private ship management firm, we have so far successfully managed a significant number of bulk carriers, spanning from Handysize all the way to Capesize vessels.

The wider Group of companies we are part of is primarily involved in dry bulk shipping but has also carried out sizeable investments in chemical tankers and maintains significant exposure to domestic and international, residential as well as commercial, real estate properties, securities, commodities, structured financial investments, freight forward agreements and other asset classes.

Throughout our operating history our managed vessels have transported over 30 million tonnes of commodities consisting of major bulk iron ore, coal and grain, as well as, minor bulk agricultural products, fertilizers, mineral cargoes, cement, forest and steel products and other dry cargoes in bulk, break bulk or bagged form, equivalent to circa 1 million tonnes per annum.

We have chartered our managed vessels to some of the leading international trading houses of dry bulk commodities, world-class vessel operators and a select number of government agencies that span across all five continents. Lately, our increasing focus has been centred on Asian, Latin American and other emerging market routes anticipating and responding to global economic growth and trade developments.

Throughout our operating history our managed vessels have transported over 30 million tonnes of commodities.

Over the years, we have managed to build a first class organization comprising a robust mix of highly experienced executives with complementary skills and expertise that exhibit vigilance in their work and operate under carefully developed and externally validated management processes.

Being based in Athens, a major global hub for international shipping and shipping finance, enables us to benefit from a vibrant cluster of globally competitive businesses and key human resources. The fact that we are part of a highly regarded Greek shipping Group and headquartered at the home of the world's largest dry bulk and tanker fleets, enables us to source unique shipping investment opportunities and chartering contracts, as well as, to recruit from a deep pool of unparalleled maritime executive talent.
